Re: Do any of your locations have a 100-199.x.x.x prefix?
Is there a chance, if I switch locations to NYC that this would be possible? I really can not afford to keep an empty server, this is why I am curious. I didn't know that IP ranges make an actual difference whether or not the server is full or not. it doesn't. our servers are populating just fine a...

Re: Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Choke
The red is entity count correct? If so there lies your problem. Much like Zombie Escape maps and mini game maps for CSS/GO. Are you running any plugins that add any type of entity that is dropped from a player action "death/spawn/takendmg"? Or is it just standard DM that is causing this? I...

whats nfo's take on this? I forget. I'll have to read the terms again.
Seeing as how we already utilize a core. But i am sure there are also other utilizing costs for running higher slot servers other than the core itself, such as how much use and bandwidth also.

Virtualized Dedicated server
Just a quick question about dedicated servers and software like Virtualbox or Xen etc.
If I got the 4 core dedicated server, being HT that would give me 8 cores to choose from for a virtual environment right?
If so, how many can i virtualize before I bottleneck the main system?

Re: Question with the Initial OS
20 slots, you could get by with 1 core on win2k3.
But if you plan to heavily mod it and want to ensure no lag and possibly raising the slots, then a 2 core would be good.
I have always done at least 2 cores for cs:s game servers. So 1 core runs OS and other runs srcds.exe.

Re: Can i hold 50 slots with ze enabled?
Yes omega was fun. oh the good days. anyways. The server runs on a single core. 2.93 will bring you most of the way but I would not expect 50 slots smoothly without limiting your skins and mods and maps. If you can balance what you have loaded as far as plugins and skins and maps go, 50 slots should...

Re: Question with the Initial OS
What type of cs and css servers?
If they are less then 32 slots, and not using massive plugins and you don't have a need for every resource you can get, just use win2k3. it is the easiest and most stable.

Ubuntu upgrade
Anyone here had any luck upgrading Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04? No matter the method, I get undesired results. From a fresh install First tried do-release-upgrade. This did not go over well. Then tried apt-get update/upgrade first before do-release-upgrade Then I tried apt-get update && apt-get up...
