Re: TF2 and Gmod connection loss on Full machine after closi

Nevermind about this. After making this post I decided to do another search online for this issue and actually managed to find the solution this time. Apparently a while back Microsoft did and update to Remote Desktop to fix some compatibility issues when connecting to a windows 7 system from a wind...

TF2 and Gmod connection loss on Full machine after closing R

Greetings, So I have an interesting issue that I have been trying to resolve for quite a while. Whenever I logout of my full machine (running windows server 2008) via remote desktop all the Team Fortress 2 and Gmod servers I am running on it time out for around 5-30 seconds. My Teamspeak 3 server ho...

Re: Would the E3-1270v3 full machine be able to handle this?

Yes, a fully dedicated machine should be able to handle this just fine. I imagine you are getting about two servers per core now. Which means you'd be using up about 50% of the machines CPU. It would likely be less though, since the machines CPU would be slighter faster than your VDS and you'd be o...

Would the E3-1270v3 full machine be able to handle this?

So for some time now I have been running my TF2 servers on three VDS's I rent through NFO. Lately I have been looking at making the move from those three vds's to one Full machine. Here is what I run right now on all of them: Eight TF2 servers (All replay enabled) One Teamspeak 3 Server One Website ...

Issues on TF2 servers when closing out the remote desktop.

Greetings, I just recently started encountering issues with all three of my VDS machines. I currently run TF2 servers off three different VDS machines. One is running windows server 2012 and the other two are running Windows server 2008. Whenever I close out of remote desktop on one of the box's any...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

It is possible during certain times you're seeing some disk lag but It's hard to say. With replays disabled did your issues go away? Sadly no. Your original thoughts on the mysql databases using the larger amount of write speed appears to be correct. I have done some "pruning" and got rid...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

Well after making the SSD upgrade and moving both the mysql databases and our replays to the SSD it has helped out quite a bit but has not fully resolved the issue. Been watching it for sometime and may have found some things worthy of note. 1. It appears that the C drive is still occasionally excee...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

Here is a small update on the situation. Kraze you very well may be right. However, it most likely is not the mysql databases but the fact that I run replays on all five of my TF2 servers. The accrue about 1gb of data a day so I imagine they are the culprits that are exceeding my write speed. My nex...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

I am going to have to look into the database side of things for sure. Will do some testing later. As for the CPU usage I have been able to run upwards of 70% before without issue but I will defer to your knowledge of server capabilities. Any recommendations on how to lower CPU usage without effectin...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

Greetings Everyone, Going to go ahead and revive my thread as I am encountering a similar issue again. Anywhere between fifteen minutes to an hour each server will experience a brief half a second stutter that everyone on the server experiences. My setup has changed a bit since I originally opened t...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

Modified the splitpacket and it resolved all the problems as far as I can tell. Thank you all so much for your help on this. NFO rocks at support both the staff and the forum community! :D

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

In my experience those red bars you're seeing in HLSW are just a ping graph. Meaning if you were to personally see a spike in that graph it could represent an issue or routing problem between you and the server. That doesn't mean it doesn't represent a problem, but take it with a grain of salt. Did...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

Playing on the server felt like it was at the default 15,000. Check when your server is running by running "rcon net_splitpacket_maxrate" in the console, it will reply with the current applied value. I'll be dipped. Ran it from my phone application and it is on 15000. I'll alter this when...

Re: Server spike issues on VDS

To be honest I did not think to use netgraph 3/4 at all. Mostly off the reports of my regulars and from what I what I have seen in HLSW. I'll check on the plugins themselves but since this has been happening since before the update yesterday I imagine that there might be something else causing the i...
