Re: Dedicated server and VDS changes

Awesome.
Less awesome is that this happens right after auto billing but I'll probably upgrade soon anyways.

NFOServers.com Review

Short version Services used; Managed/Unmanaged VDS Webhosting Standalone gameservers Time with NFO hosting; About 2 years in total, maybe a bit more? Server performance; Great. They run very well for a VPS with "dedicated HT cores" (that's sounds pretty gimmicky tbh). Whatever they're doin...

Re: Best (easist) way to get files from local comp onto VDS

I'd say SFTP for Linux and just copy-paste on RDP for Windows.

Both of these options work out of the box and don't require 3rd party stuff installed.

Re: Vs Saxton Hale plugin setup

Be sure to install the bajillion dependencies for VSH 1.52. Unless you have reasons to use 1.52, I would stay with 1.42 because of the new version's buggy dependencies :(

Neat. This may be time I stop having to deal with VPSes scattered across various hosts :3
Hope the prices stay ofc.

Re: Can't connect to my server.

Is this an NFO standard game server? I'm pretty sure they run their servers as 'dedicated' while your server reports 'dedicated No'. If you're hosting this at home, then you'd connect by your local IP and the problem has nothing to do with NFO. Things you can try before contacting NFO directly (if i...

Re: remove subdirectory via htaccess

Not trying to redirect but rather rewrite.

meaning people would type domain.com/test.html and it shows domain.com/test.html but the files are domain.com/other/pagetest/test.html

remove subdirectory via htaccess

What would be the apache rewrite for say, domain.com/other/pagestest/test.html to
  • domain.com/pagestest/test.html
    domain.com/test.html?
I tried everyone I have on google but none of them work here :(

I recently moved to Xenforo for my community site, and it runs great on NFO's lite webhosting.

Re: Core Affinity

I'd say you'd just leave the OS to handle it the cores.

If you still want to use affinities, I believe it is simply "/affinity X", where X is
  • Core 1 is 1
  • Core 2 is 2
  • Core 3 is 4
  • Core 4 is 8

Re: Assigning Ram

I've never tested, but apparently leaving Windows to manage core affinities can yield better results then manually doing it.
