You would need to use FTP program, if you are trying to upload stuff. Filezilla is one of the most common ones to use.

Those plugins might be modified. I personally modify a ton of my plugins to make them suitable for the changes. It could be the plugins or it could be something completely different.

You are asking about a niche mod, that majority of people hate due to the abuse. What is the problem with the mod? With no error logs or any relevant information, how can you expect anyone to answer.
