Re: How the get a Desktop connection

If you're still running Ubuntu on it, then I'd recommend you switch to Windows if you don't have any Linux knowledge as trying to run stuff on Linux without any knowledge about how Linux functions can be a real mess. You can install AppServ, though I wouldn't recommend it as AppServ is very oudated ...

Re: Help please!

200.229.50.3 isn't even a NFO IP. Not sure what you're meaning here, please explain more in depth/clearly, your second post isn't making sense.

Re: How to change the ip teamspeak 3 requires on VDS

Ok now how do i run commands when i start the server? Pretty sure you'd just add the arguments to the command you use to start the server, for example: ./ts3server_startscript.sh start voice_ip=w.x.y.z filetransfer_ip=w.x.y.z query_ip=w.x.y.z I haven't tried it, but that's probably the correct way ...

Re: Linux optimization question(s)

For general optimization, the best advice would be as follows: -Try not to install web services on your game server. It adds load, and a huge attack potential. If possible. If you need MySQL, simply use remote MySQL to manage it via a database manager such as phpMyAdmin if you need it. It's easy to ...

Re: SA-MP PROBLEM ./samp03svr: error while loading shared l

Try:
apt-get update
apt-get install lib32stdc++6

If not, NFO doesn't directly support SA-MP, so you won't get many answers here. You can ask on the SA-MP forums at http://forum.sa-mp.com.

It'll be on every IP.

Re: Time a day behind - ntpd fixes it

I recommend running ntpd continuously as a permanent fix (it's meant to correct time drifts). What's the cause of this? I've never had this problem, at least on OpenVZ systems. It's odd that it was exactly 12 hours behind. Have you seen it a lot, perhaps a XEN bug? Would running this daily via cron...

Re: How to change the ip teamspeak 3 requires on VDS

By default, it binds to all IPs (0.0.0.0), so you shouldn't need to change it.

Time a day behind - ntpd fixes it

So I went into check my server logs (game server) and what not, and I notice that things aren't rotating on the correct time sequence, (daily, etc), logs seem to have stopped on 5/18/14, so somehow before 12 AM EST today the time drifted back a day. Here's some logs from SSH where it seems to miracu...

Possibly look into adding SA-MP to NFOServers?

I myself wouldn't be interested in a SA-MP server, as I use a VDS so I have complete control, but it's be a great addition to NFO for profit. Allow me to explain. SA-MP is based on GTA SA, it's old, but it still has a decent player base (75+ thousand). SA-MP servers use next to no resources, therefo...

Re: OS Time is wrong

This is a Linux VDS, correct? Have you tried changing the time within Linux? What are you going by to make sure it's the same? You can try using the timezone offset in the control panel (server control -> advanced options). Please note that setting an offset requires a reboot, so you may want to wai...

Re: Who else would love a mobile app for control panel?

An actual "application" would require John to either hire a iOS/Android programmer to program applications (as I doubt he's knowledgeable in that field of coding), or spend a decent amount of time that he probably doesn't have learning himself. The simpler solution would be to make a theme...

Re: Traffic rate for "eth0" higher than set maximum 100 Mbit

This log line tells me that you installed software called "vnstatd" which is guessing the adapter speed wrong and getting confused when you exceed its guess. You will need to adjust its configuration to let it know the real speed of the adapter or to tell it to have no maximum (MaxBandwid...
