Re: SSH File Transferring On Debian 7

To use SCP on the server, you'd need another Linux machine with OpenSSH and port 22 forwarded. I'd recommend FileZilla for SFTP/FTP as it is simple, works well, and has decent features.

SCP is great when sending files to another Linux server, though.

Greetings everyone, First time poster here so please bare with me. Is there anyone out there in this community that can help me in regards to creating and setting up a script and/or program that allows my game server admins to connect to my main server (VPS) via FTP and perform these actions (Start...

Re: Battlefield 4 Is Dying Off

You have to do what you have to do.

Maybe you can leave 2 BF4 servers up and replace the other underpopulated ones with BF3 servers. BF3 was free on Origin not too long ago, so there's a lot of new players.

Re: BF4 on 4 core managed VDS.

Yeah, but even with multi-core on it was topping out at around 27.5% of the four available cores. How much was it using with single core? I'd guess 25% or so? If so, it'd make sense that you're not seeing a performance degrade yet as it's not needing that much more power for normal conditions, as 2...

Re: Help installing admin skin for my cs:s server

Not sure how to do it myself, but to avoid waiting for someone that does know how to do it, with a quick Google search I found some results that may look promising: https://www.google.com/search?q=install+admin+skin+on+cs%3AS&oq=install+admin+skin+on+cs%3AS&aqs=chrome..69i57.255j0j4&sour...

Re: BF4 on 4 core managed VDS.

So far from what I have learned about EA's fantastic coding skills. The water maps cause lag, and if I turn them off the server runs better. I had sworn I tested it with single, and multi-core on, and found that it ran better with multi-core. However, before the patch last night I switched it to si...

Re: Changed MyBB domain name, forum broken

I changed the settings in settings.php, and the site functioned correctly again, or so it seemed... Anyhow, there's nothing in config.php referencing a website, so I'm not sure what you mean. When I try to log in, however, it successfully logs me in, but when I get back to the index page from the f...

Re: Could use some help

The forums/IRC(#nfo-support on the GameSurge IRC network) are a great place to ask for general help that don't directly involve your account. The knowledgebase forum sections are honestly great here, usually knowledge-bases for hosts contain a lot of canned information that doesn't really help. In t...

Re: Changed MyBB domain name, forum broken

For software that isn't directly supported by NFO, you're always better off to go to the vendor site in this case it'd be http://community.mybb.com/. However, I'm an avid MyBB user, so I'll be happy to help. However, I'd encourage you use the MyBB community forums in the future as there is an active...

Re: Best for....?

If you're looking for the best latency in the UK area, your best bet is NFO's Frankfurt, Germany location. However, the latency from most of NFO's United States locations will also be just fine, but if you're looking for the best latency, you'll definitely get it from the German location. You can vi...

Re: Unmanaged to Managed

Just want to clear this up for you. Managing web server on windows is easy, but on Linux it can really hard. You can have tons of issues and you really have to know your distro to debunk them. Not saying don't go for Linux, but just be ready for some hard-work. Web servers tend to work better with ...

Re: Unmanaged to Managed

If you're on Windows currently, which it looks like you are, then it'll require a wipe to re install the OS to Linux, so the files would be gone, you'd need to back those up since you are going to be doing a full OS re install in order to downgrade.

Re: Unmanaged to Managed

It'll be easy to transfer the web server without losing anything. For TeamSpeak, it'll just require moving the database and files over to the new TeamSpeak install on Linux, there's lots of tutorials online for that.

Re: Unmanaged to Managed

1) Unmanaged VDS servers don't come with a MySQL database, though all game servers do come with the starter web hosting plan which does have a MySQL database. 2) You can keep it running for as long as you want as long as it's on an unmanaged VDS. However, I don't think you'd be able to run a web ser...

I'm still having the same issues as the OP had. Any other clues on how to fix it? I keep hearing you have to put display_errors=Off in PHP.ini but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you're using shared web hosting provided by NFO, or really any Apache web server using mod_php, y...
