Re: Arma2NETMySQL Failing
I know people have had great success before with using external database servers, and I think that's quite often the setup when renting out a managed server elsewhere. It's certainly more ideal from an organizational and management standpoint to have each dedicated machine focus on its game servers ...

Re: Arma2NETMySQL Failing
Both in Dallas. Both hosted by NFO. Game server is a full-box dedi, MySQL server is a 4-core VDS. From what it looks like, everything goes fine until there's a minor hiccup in latency, at which point the extension crashes and cannot reconnect without a game server restart. Any ideas? Would this be a...

Arma2NETMySQL Failing
Hey guys, up to this point I've been installing a separate instance of MySQL Community Server on each full-box machine I rent from NFO. Having a single, and maybe even two machines works ok with this setup, but eventually I think it's best to use a dedicated MySQL machine. So, I rented a 4-core VDS ...

Re: ArmA3 Headless Client
Well the only issue I'm now facing is this: I used to startup each server with the -ip=xxx command to bind my servers to a specific IP (I have 5 assigned to the server in total). I found out after a few hours that you cannot use that startup parameter with a headless client; he just won't connect, s...

Re: ArmA3 Headless Client
Thanks for the reply. Installing Steam was the trick (and, of course, purchasing a new license). I ran into several other problems as well, but finally overcame them. I now have Altis Life running with a headless client that performs all DB functions. It was a pain though.

Re: ArmA3 Headless Client
Perhaps a stupid question, but do I have to have Steam installed on the dedi to run the client, even with -client in startup? Or is it a DirectX or GPU issue? Or something entirely different?

ArmA3 Headless Client
So I'm running a full-box, unmanaged dedi on Windows Server 2012, with two ArmA3 servers running 24/7. I'm getting to the point where I want to boost FPS/CPS as much as possible, as both servers are nearing 80/80 during peak hours. So, I'm working on converting the missions to accept a headless clie...

Re: Arma3 Major Performance Drops
I have also isolated a correlation between the sudden, massive performance drops and the spikes in network traffic. The spikes again can reach between 100Mbps to 250Mbps, but cannot be narrowed down to a single source IP. Whether completely unlikely or not, is it at all possible that these performan...

Re: Arma3 Major Performance Drops
Yeah, I hate those pesky messages even though they may not represent any problems, however, the "found in xxx" messages are new to my reports. I did check through BattlEye filters, and saw no signs of publicVariable tampering, mass spawning of objects, or foul play of any kind. If not DDoS...

Re: Arma3 Major Performance Drops
I actually have a few saved WireShark captures already form these "attacks". I'll post a pastebin as soon as I can. Unfortunately, I made a rookie mistake when trying to block a certain IP. I turned on Windows Firewall before applying any rules. Now I can't even remote in to my server... F...

Re: Arma3 Major Performance Drops
Maybe this is too much information, but this is my log of all server functions. Blocks are before, during, and after, corresponding to the dip in performance. NFC represents the "Client: Object not found messages" and NFS is the same but for the server.

Re: Arma3 Major Performance Drops
RAM usage has never been an issue, even close. CPU usage looks normal to me. In other words, CPU usage sits right where it always has, even when we had no dips in performance. I assign the first server to cores 0-3, and the second to cores 4-7. The first core in each block sits around 50-75% usage a...

Arma3 Major Performance Drops
I'm running several (two live and a test server) ArmA3 servers off a full-box dedi, and we bounce between having a total of 30 players on to above 110. Up until I made some changes recently, the server performed fine, even with one server at 80/80, and the other at ~40/80. Now, I'm seeing some very ...

Re: Arma 3 - Altis Life
This is fixed. Two words: power options. I had left the server on balanced power mode since the beginning. Changed it to high performance, and instantly noticed a quadrupling of performance. I'm an idiot.

Re: Arma 3 - Altis Life
Tonic's version does not have that reference. I added it in so I could monitor how much money was in life_federal_funds, without making life_federal_funds a public variable. the undefined variable has since been fixed; I seem to have accidentally deleted the initial creation of that variable. But, t...
