Actually it is possible. There's a few skins that you can download that shows the channel identification. I use "default custom" that I picked up from their addons page. It's as simple as hovering over the channel name when selected and you can get the channel id.

How can you identify the spam monitoring service? I've had reports of it happening on providers as simple as Gmail and Yahoo mail. It's strange though, as it doesn't land into my spam folder, but I figure mine automatically doesn't spam folder it as at some point I verified it as legit mail.

There's login details to access its SSH or Remote environments. You wouldn't really need an FTP login as you'll just run the specific linux commands to install and run it OR login via remote desktop connection (windows) and actually do it on the desktop.
