Re: Error connecting to database: [1040]: Too many connections
The limit TimeX is thinking of is actually enforced outside of MySQL and would not give this error. As far as I know, the "Too many connections" error only occurs when MySQL itself hits max_connections. If you're still seeing it, please have your support request escalated to me, and I can...

Re: Error connecting to database: [1040]: Too many connections
Thanks, that helps From the ToS: Clients may not: Have open more than 20 remote (non-local) connections to the MySQL server per remote IP address. Is it possible that limit got changed today to 7 or 8? I haven't seen those errors before today and the screenshot indicates 7 connections per game serve...

Error connecting to database: [1040]: Too many connections
I've been getting this sourcemod error today (september 1st) on my servers: Error connecting to database: [1040]: Too many connections We have our database and website hosted on NFO. Our L4D2 game servers have somewhere around 4-8 plugins on each server (11 servers total) that just keeps an open DB ...

Re: Beginner PHP question
Uh... I'm not 100% sure but are these other people's web folder names I'm looking at? https://imgur.com/eY9zXDq I simply SFTP'd to the server and enabled hidden files, to see if I needed to manually create a .htaccess file or it was just hidden. I accidentally went back a directory from my folder an...

Beginner PHP question
Beginner web dev question - does NFO web hosting allow you to access 'httpd.conf' config file of apache? I'm wanting to install this web interface to test a web interface out, which contains sensitive database info. It looks like NFO installs Apache by default as well as keeping all pre-installed pa...

Re: How do you manage your game servers on a VPS?
What games do your servers run? and do they offer in-game server-side modding or scripting support? Generally I find it easiest to script server-side mods to automate things like restarting servers every so often. This is an example specific to source based games (in this case, L4D2), but you can se...

Re: Website Database Size Cap
hmm well it looks like the heatmap plugin is still logging the info correctly, it's just there's a lot of extra blank pages for whatever reason that extend beyond the last recorded official heatmap log. I came back to check and sure enough there where recorded heatmap logs from the latest round id a...

Website Database Size Cap
Do the SQL database(s) that comes with the 'lite' website plan have a limit on how much info each individual database can log before it stops storing stuff? Say, if a database where to reach 127 MB? ~Some context~ https://i.imgur.com/Cz2irUr.png I have some Left 4 Dead 2 servers that logs a bunch of...

Hong Kong VPS
What are the best VPS providers for the Hong Kong region (for a game server)? Have been looking for a while but I'm not coming up with good results searching for reputable VPS providers. Not interested in renting a preconfigured game server - need the flexibility of a virtual private server (for ins...

Re: Advanced ddos protection
It's been a few months, and I just wanted to add that we did need some extra protection on top of NFO's default filtering system, in order to make sure there were no short server lags before the DDoS filter kicked in: https://youtu.be/cr5oCivfmiE?t=1h14m5s We ended up using sir's ip tables, in conju...

Re: Advanced ddos protection
Thanks for that info. He only told me after I told him I was inquiring about it on NFO that it was a made up term. I don't think I'll have a problem with ddos now thinking about it but always more safe than sorry

Advanced ddos protection
Hello, I was wondering about any advanced dos/ddos protection methods you guys could recommend (links please) for making sure that a server is almost immune to dos/ddos attacks? 8:57 AM - dustin: Is the default NFO dos / doss filtering good enough for a server group? As in, no firewall settings in t...

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 server lagging suddenly and the server goes down please help
I believe it's a problem with the most recent L4D2 update, which added steam controller support to the game. http://www.l4dnation.com/server-zone/server-crashes-after-the-recent-l4d2-update/ People have been complaining left and right on the L4D2 steam discussion forums about official dedicated serv...
