Change your password for starters, and make it as complicated as possible.
Use some CAPS, odd characters like $%^&! and mix them all up.
Did that already sir, but thanks for trying to help.

Re: Badly need help stopping this malware from getting place

All I have done is used PHP to read from GET to tell the website what page to pull from. This way I could have a pages folder and put all my content pages in that pages folder (home, contact, about, etc) and just have the header and footer in that one index.php with PHP telling index.php which "...

Re: Badly need help stopping this malware from getting place

Here is an example of one kind of injected code. There has been many variations, but this should give you an idea. <?php #c63448# if (empty($jk)) { error_reporting(0); @ini_set('display_errors', 0); if (!function_exists('__url_get_contents')) { function __url_get_contents($remote_url, $timeout) { if...

Badly need help stopping this malware from getting placed in

I have tried everything (even having a blank page as a website and deleted all of my other websites), and it still got injected! This has been a problem for a long time now and I REALLY need some help. It is clearly not a insecure code in my website since as I said I left one website up with a blank...

Malware Spreading - Here is an easy enough way to remove it.

Lately I got malware installed on my webserver I am renting here on NFO. It was a bit of a pain to figure it all out at first, but here is what I learned that made it easy to remove. First, I got Google Webmaster Tools (it helped tell me the exact line of code to look for so I can remove it by hand)...

Re: Google PageSpeed Services

Personally I found it easier to do TXT records. That works and gets you verified in less than an minute.

Re: How can I secure my Linux VPS?

I meant that Bullguard is the best on protection that I have seen so far. Although they are Windows only. I agree the default password is strong, but I also know that my computer was never compromised. I know that beyond a doubt due to it is only used by me, has a password with @ and 0 and P that is...

Re: How can I secure my Linux VPS?

I know what you are talking about. I have read a lot on Viruses and their variants including Rootkits and Keyloggers. I have found only one company to truly be as close to on top of it as possible. They are Windows only currently though, so I only really feel safe there. I know I was not keylogged s...

Re: How can I secure my Linux VPS?

Well I know the machine has yet to get a rootkit again since the re-install and password change. I will change it so only my IP can view phpmyadmin *I suck with htaccess, but I gotta learn one day* apt-get is Debian's version of yum. I am sure I keep the kernal up to date. I do that every re-install...

Re: How can I secure my Linux VPS?

I am not sure 100% where it came from, but the last password was not that strong. It was the one from the user control panel (no offence :D). apt-get -y install rkhunter clamav zip build-essential libxt-dev libxaw7-dev libgmp3-dev libbz2-dev libmysql++-dev libboost-all-dev subversion apache2 mysql-s...

How can I secure my Linux VPS?

I have noticed a SHV5 Rootkit. rkhunter in my Ubuntu server. What would you suggest to do as security precautions. Here is a small list of things I can think of. 1.) Have a firewall and set it up 2.) Have a antivirus like ClamAV. 3.) Have a very secure password or even better locked off root user. 4...

Re: I like the move....

I second this! Even though my server that held my VPS was the only one to run in to that Xen bug and took hours longer to be up and working again :D

I will never forget the hell John had to go through that day
