Re: Symbolic Links between seperate machines

I'm not too familiar with how ARK clustering works, but you can use the below command to make a symbolic link from an UNC path. mklink /D "C:\temp11111" \\server\share\foldername\ I'm not sure how the ARk servers will react if the files need to be accessed and/or written to at the same time however....

Re: ETA on 1270v5 in NY

Just curious as to why San Jose (possibly unpopular location) has it and not NY. It's based mainly on demand, and when a location needs new machines. In this case San Jose needed to be restocked, while NYC didn't, so we sent the latest hardware to San Jose. When NYC needs hardware it'll also get th...

Re: Trouble with Plugins & Admin Commands

Via the console on the server control tab in your control panel, type "ownerid <SteamID here> Yourname" This will ensure you're an admin. Once done try using the "say <any text here>" command. If the server chat displays a message then you're an admin. I would expect Oxide plugins to authorize you a...

Re: Kaiman23 returns! :O

This is true, but I don't think I've seen him speak for a long time. Snake is also usually in IRC, and lurks, but he hasn't been around lately :/

Re: My NFOservers website doesn't work at my school.

It's possible your school is blocking the connection. For a school I'd expect a generic warning from whatever system they are using to do filtering, but a generic block is probably possible as well.

Yes, you can set your own password from directly within the OS.

Re: ARK:Survival Evolved Server Setup

6GB would probably do you fine, unless the ARK server sees a lot of activity.

Re: Canadian locations?

More locations is something that's always on our road map, but opening a new location is a significant undertaking! For now, we recommend clients in Canada use our Seattle, Chicago, or New York locations as they have an excellent connections which most Canadian players find acceptable.

Re: Errors on VDS

So why isn't it secure? The default password is like most other default passwords. They are randomly generated, and decently secure, but since you didn't generate it, and we must pass it to you in plain text it becomes less secure. You should always change the default password to a more secure one ...

I wasn't able to find too much on disabling this (though, I know it's probably possible), but have you tried using sm_removetitle <playername>?

Re: Server usage in Control panel

Edge's to-do-list is a list of things that never get's done, just so you know. It's been six months and he still hasn't gotten to very similar things I've suggested like measuring CPU usage by threads instead of as a whole. :( So don't get your hopes up, that bandwidth setting will ever get c...

Re: MySQL Users

Makes sense, thanks for the suggestion. One follow-up question: Does the IP address of NFO webhosted sites ever change? I want to allow incoming traffic to my VPS databases from the website and need to whitelist it in my firewall. Thanks again They do not change routinely, or often, but it's always...

Re: About my VDS

It's possible the game is saying your NAT is closed because it's unable to complete some form of a background task, such as reaching a port that's in-use, or ping an external IP. Are you actually having problems due to it saying that though?
