I had no problems setting up the KF2 server, except that I had to install the Visual C++ libraries of the 2010 version of course. I tried attaching a png and gif of the installed programs, but they wouldn't take, so I zipped it up; hope that's ok.

this is a snapshot of what programs have been installed on my 2008r2 server, just in case im missing something.

I was, but turned them off just in case, no change.

ill go ahead and reinstall VC2010 x64 and DirectX libraries just in case...

There was another update, and no change.

anyone have any ideas for at least troubleshooting this issue, as ive tried everything I can think of.

im really confused I cant find that directory anywhere, either in the install that works on my win 7 machine, or in the vds install. im running the bat from the command line on both machines. that's the weird part, it works on my desktop machine fine, just not on the vds. the two differences are win...

it is installed, not sure about that directory though if you are referring to the one in the steamapps directory (which is a sometimes fix for various issues I understand), I don't even have a steamapps directory on the server install, since I am using only the dedicated server files, and don't have...

the "installer" is just like every other steam dedicated server, in that it downloads files to a directory.

the bat file to launch it does not give me any errors at all

just cant really do it on a vds that doesn't have a video card
