Nope, I put them on separate databases, but separate or not... I have tried every possible combination (same db or different) and I can tell you that that is not the issue.

I am able to get into the phpbb admin panel and no it doesn't redirect me when I'm in there.

Yep I enabled that widget and the widget itself works perfectly, it is just that I am unable to access the wp-admin panel because it redirects me every time I try to access it.
