Re: PC Desk Build

I have 2 GTX 480's so I just figured ill spend $240 on waterblocks rather than a $1000 for a new 690 from evga.

I'll probably upgrade at the end of the year, I don't have any performance issues with my 2 cards.

Re: PC Desk Build

The 110mm holes, 130mm holes and some of the other cuts in the desk are not in tolerance. In the future it will have fan guards in the desk so you won't need to bother with mesh and other expensive products like radiator guards.

Re: PC Desk Build

Don't know yet, I think the powder coating alone cost about 300 but probably more. Once I program it for a production and limit the number of times it's handled I will have a good idea of what it would run. I'll probably work on that in a few days.

Re: PC Desk Build

It's been awhile but I today I had a chance to finish it. All I have to do is drill some holes for the tubing, should be here next week along with the two Black Ice SR1 560 radiators. After that it's off to be power coated. Since this is only a prototype, the next desk will be in tolerance if I ever...

Re: PC Desk Build

Looking good! Have you actually decided what kind of hardware you are going to put in it yet? I'm going to use my main HW in my current pc for this build. I'll probably end up buying a new cpu, mb and ram in a few months but for now that is what its going to be. Hardware: Intel i7 2600k @ 5.2GHz As...

Re: PC Desk Build

Still unsure if I'm going to use glass or plexi. This might be mounted on my wall and if it is running cables will from the back compartment will be difficult. If I use plexi it will be much easier to cut a hole for mouse, keyboard and monitor cables. If you guys have any suggestions about this desk...

Re: PC Desk Build

That would be epic! I would love to see some progress pictures as you go. For sure, I just bent the table earlier today so I will take some pictures tomorrow when it's welded. After that it's time for the flange that will seal off the two compartments, welding in the leg box and cutting out holes f...

PC Desk Build

I got the idea from a modder in the UK years ago when I saw his build log. If you have ever seen the L3p desk, then you know exactly what I'm doing. Here is the sample I made, it's a little old and I will be making changes. http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s467/pcdesk2012/dsksample.jpg The desk w...
