Re: SteamPipe/SteamCMD conversions?

Mycologist, yes, I saw that. I haven't heard other complaints from managed customers about decreased performance yet, but if you need for us to look at your server, let us know. The affinity concern would not apply here (we figured that out long ago). CS:S has known issues that are supposedly fixed...

Re: Uping server FPS..

soja wrote:SRCDS is pretty mature and probably won't go under any drastic changes for performance. If it is anything but a match server, don't worry about it. Tbh I notice the net_graph reports fps at 66.7 on windows more often than on our ultra-accelerated linux machine.
Thanks for the input soja :D

Re: Uping server FPS..

For Orangebox-based games, the ultraaccelerator means that the server is placed on a Linux machine with our optimized kernel. We have found that servers in this configuration have a slightly more stable FPS rate, but this difference is less noticeable than it was previously. I would advise trying b...

Re: TF2 Halloween Update

Valve's servers were particularly slow at transferring the files tonight. If they switch TF2 to the new steamcmd delivery mechanism, this should speed their updates considerably. For future big updates is there anyway we can get the update from overseas Valve servers? On my client at home I was get...

Re: TF2 Halloween Update

Yeah it's crazy it takes over 2 hours to get our servers updated. I love nfo but come on guys, change your download server to one of the foreign servers that isn't so bogged down.

Re: High TF2 CPU Usage

We carefully load-balance our machines so that all servers perform maximally, and our performance guarantee applies to all of them. The high CPU priority option really isn't needed, IMO. Thanks John Just out of curiosity because I work as a system admin. Are you guys Windows game servers running 20...

Re: High TF2 CPU Usage

The change itself is really simple, unfortunately the IP would change and you would loose all files. If you open a support request I can give you exact instructions. Sounds good. I'm going to backup my plugins and configs first, then I'll open a ticket. One more question...my gaming community just ...

Re: High TF2 CPU Usage

One of our regular 24 slot TF2 servers is cheaper then a single core VDS and it comes with so much more, along with our performance guarantee; https://www.nfoservers.com/sla.php https://www.nfoservers.com/performanceguarantee.php This may be the way to go...Is it hard to change my current plan over...

Re: High TF2 CPU Usage

It sounds like your server is just using a lot of CPU. If you really wanted to test you can disable all addons and get a base number but for the most part your server is just intensive. If you are only running one server is there a reason you went with a VDS instead of a regular server here? Trying...

High TF2 CPU Usage

I am currently running a 24 player TF2 server on a single core VDS running Windows 2003. The only plugins I'm running at the moment are Sourcemod and Ultimate Map Chooser. I am also not using VNC to connect to the server. When the server has 24 players the CPU usage is staying anywhere between 90% a...
