Re: new Doom trailer/gameplay
Wow that looks incredible... as someone who spent two years lost in Doom 3 I think this will definitely be my next gaming addiction. Any betas out there (wink wink)?

Re: Firewall IP Limit?
Oh OK. So I can add multiple IPs to a rule by selecting "remote ips" instead of "remote ip" and then listing them in one rule. Totally obvious once you see it. I have a botter who keeps changing his entire IPs and we used up all ten rules lol. So I can just put them all in one ru...

Firewall IP Limit?
This may have been answered somewhere else but I was wondering if the Firewall Beta in the control panel could have more than ten IPs? We need to make more subnet bans.

Re: Need to Ban Brisbane
I looked up all the IP address ranges for Brisbane, and the list is a mile long as expected. So I wanted to import it into an app like PeerBlock or maybe find a way to do it within a script or batch command in Windows.

Re: Need to Ban Brisbane
It's a Wolf ET (yeah I know) server. We ban by IP address within the game for most cheaters, and use the Firewall when we get someone with a dynamic IP who keeps coming back.
By first two octets yes I mean as in 192.168.*.* on the nfo firewall.

Need to Ban Brisbane
I have an annoying player from Brisbane, Australia on one of my game servers. He changes his IP every time he gets banned. We have been banning him with the firewall on the control panel (really nice feature btw) but he changes his entire IP and comes back after we block the subnet of his last IP. I...

Re: Battlefield 4 is on the way!
lol what a joke. All he is doing is renting a vps and installing an image of the game, and hoping some low-information customers will pay his inflated price to do something they could learn to do themselves. I can't believe he is listing all those hosts with "pending" as if he is in contac...

Re: Just joined NFO.
Your main incentive for relocating here is that things suck vastly less here than anywhere else. And when there are problems, like ddos for example, instead of denying there is a problem, or blaming the customer, which is standard procedure at most companies, they actually make an extra effort to fi...

Re: VDS Down 3'rd day out of 4 due to DDOS?
These attacks are unfortunately because I banned a player who was breaking rules on my server after he donated. If you ban someone you should always give their money back. Otherwise they will reverse charges on PayPal or their credit card company and cost you extra money and time. Your angry player...

Re: VDS Down 3'rd day out of 4 due to DDOS?
John it has occurred to me that this may be a bit too professional to be some kid in his mom's basement with a homemade botnet. Mike try talking to your players, post a link to this thread in your forum if you have one. I sent out a mass email on my clan forum to let everyone know what was going on....

Re: VDS Down 3'rd day out of 4 due to DDOS?
Our servers have been lagging and crashing for several days too. About 8:30PM (central US time) our vds in New York crashed, again, disconnecting all our gamers on five servers we were running on the vds. I have been tinkering with our game servers inside the vds for a couple days, thinking maybe we...

Returning Customer
After leaving last year to try a different company, we have decided to rent from nuclear fallout again. We get a better deal here and the servers are more powerful and reliable. Thanks for providing good servers.

Re: Start-of-summer sale on game servers and VDSes!
$20 for a server is a great deal and should get you more customers, as long as their games will run on a single core on linux. Also it helps server admins justify the price of maintaining their game servers in these tight times when players and clan members don't donate as much. I have a friend who ...
