Right, server's gone down again.
When it comes up, I think I'm going to copy all game files and database files etc to be safe, as if this carries on for much longer, and NFO won't 'allow' me to move away from the DDOS'd datacentre that is being effected until it's resolved, I will have to move ...

Re: VDS Down 3'rd day out of 4 due to DDOS?
I wouldn't recommend jumping to a location switch just yet, as the attacks in NYC will be resolved one way or another. We can't tolerate having a location taken offline this frequently.
I totally understand where you're coming from, but can I ask, you do realise that this may result in us ...

Re: FAO: John - Free TS with GameServers but not VDS? :(
If you have a VDS, just setup your own TS3 server. It is free and not difficult at all. As a matter of fact, I applied for the free license which allows up to 512 slots. An unmanaged VDS is just the way to go all around.

Hi Vanderburg,
I understand, thanks for clearing it up (got an explanation via support ticket too - thanks guys!).
I meant new location yup, not new host - sorry! I meant a move to one of your places other than NYC ;) - No intention of LEAVING NFO!!! You guys are great, I know that!

Re: VDS Down 3'rd day out of 4 due to DDOS?
So I have just been told in support that moving to a new host may indeed help with the DDOS attack issues, but I can't move to a new location until the DDOS issues are resolved...
So no point in moving then?!
NFO support has always been amazing, and I do feel bad for you guys getting hit so bad ...

VDS came back up, then went down again
I just want to know what to expect this evening - will we be in for another night with intermittent connections to the server, or is this just a blip?
Thanks guys

VDS Down 3'rd day out of 4 due to DDOS?
Hi all,
I know it's not NFO's fault, but at the same time, it's a Friday night, and for the 3rd time in 4 days we have an outage :(
Is there a reason NFO is having the problem? Is someone targeting them specifically for some reason?

Re: FAO: John - Free TS with GameServers but not VDS? :(
AHhh my bad. Well, I'd be happy with a mumble :P
No worries though - not complaining, just thought it odd that spending more meant you don't get the freebies :P
No stress tho
TS3 is not free with a game server.
Mumble is free with a 15+ slot server, and is a completely free voice chat server ...

FAO: John - Free TS with GameServers but not VDS? :(
Hey :)
Sorry to be a pain, just had a quick question.
It seems that someone buying a gameserver for around $30 a month gets a free TS or Mumble server with their order, but spending $70+ a month for a VDS (or more), doesn't qualify for a free TS or Mumble :(
Is there a reason for this? Just seems ...

Re: Tech Help - Moving MySQL Database
It would be the same if your just moving from hard drive to SSD wouldn't it?
Or are you trying to keep WAMP on the hard drive and just the data on the SSD?
Open to both options really, just trying to get the database to run on SSD for faster access etc
What would you recommend? Data only on SSD ...

Tech Help - Moving MySQL Database
Hi guys!
Okay, I'm going to take out an SSD for my DayZ Epoch database.
I'm struggling to sort out how to move it!
Support suggested I posted on these forums, as they said to:
1. Shut down the MySQL server.
2. Change the datadir variable in the MySQL configuration. Make sure to edit this in ...

Re: Database on SSD? - will it make it faster? - (Dayz epoch
Okay cool - thanks for the advice. One more question...
How about running the whole arma install on the SSD... Would this be possible?
I already have a server with nfo (3 core VDS), but am thinking of upgrading to a 4 core, with SSD for either just the database, OR database and arma install.

Database on SSD? - will it make it faster? - (Dayz epoch)
Hi all,
Just wondering if having the DayZ Epoch MySQL database on an SSD will help avoid lag? OR will it being on a separate disk to the game files make it worse?
Any thoughts?

DayZ Network set-up (Quack, you maybe know about this?)
Hey guys, I have a 3 core VDS that runs DayZ pretty well. We don't get that many players usually, btu I am about to do a promo/push (forums, YouTube etc).
For that reason, I wondered about any configs I can do to the DayZ server, and/or the Windows set-up. I wish I had funds for an extra core, or ...
