Re: Unable to write anything to HDD

I'm not quite sure how to do that. This chroot is all consuming.

Re: Unable to write anything to HDD

Should I post the entire output of that command? Because there is a lot to it.

Unable to write anything to HDD

After the reset of 06 March, I have been unable to write anything. If I try to run a screen session (IE for irssi) I am presented with the following error message:

mkfifo /var/run/screen/S-Potcat/5059.irssi failed

Anything that requires more than a read fails similarly.

17 month review

Outstanding quality servers with extreme reliability and polite, helpful, responsive support that often has any and all issues solved within minutes (I might be lucky though, so YMMV). 5 month review.

PROS: 1: Excellent connectivity. I live far away from the server (and near enough everything and everyone) yet my connection is still lightning fast. 2: Excellent server. It's as reliable as it is fast, and boy is it fast. Same set up on previous hosts took ~20 seconds to load minecraft; this server...

Re: Adding ports for SSH

UPDATE: It could be a problem with my country... several tests on several connections here have failed, yet my friend in Denmark had no troubles connecting to the correct ports.

An interesting development indeed...

Thanks for your help and patience, Edge.

Re: Adding ports for SSH

I'm not sure what else it could be apart from a firewall problem. Is your Firewall page in the control panel blank? Do you have SELinux running? tried disabling and reenabling iptables, no luck. Firewall page is blank. No I do not have SELinux running. This is becoming a tad frustrating; I really n...

Re: Adding ports for SSH

Using the new SSH command, the server tried to connect to itself in typical SSH fashion (asked for a host key, etc), so I assume that means it's working locally.

Doing iptables --flush has achieved nothing however.

Re: Adding ports for SSH

This is what I get when I write that SSH command.

ssh: Could not resolve hostname localhost:80: Name or service not known

As for the firewall, I used service iptables stop

Re: Adding ports for SSH

Temporarily disabling the firewall is a troubleshooting step. If disabling the firewall eliminates the problem, you'll know that you need to adjust it. If I suggested that you do this previously, and you chose not to, then you could have potentially avoided this entire thread and the wasted time it...

Re: Adding ports for SSH

I tried using netstat -anp |grep ssh (or something similar) and it seems like the ports are opened locally. And I think you have suggested disabling the firewall in another thread, and to be honest it just doesn't feel right, you know what I mean? I'm pretty sure I've written the firewall rules corr...
