Re: cURL Error Code 7

Are you able to tell what URL it is attempting to retrieve? That would allow further troubleshooting the connectivity to that remote address.

Re: cURL Error Code 7

That's a strange one. Is this cURL usage optional in your software?

Do you have the firewall enabled in Windows?

Are you running all the latest updates?

Re: windows server 2016/2019??

2016/2019 support is expected to be added within the next few months.

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 do not hit EOL until 10/10/2023, per Microsoft's website. If you are running one of these, you can expect security patches from Microsoft through that date.

Re: NFO midsummer sale!

Rencorner, I definitely agree that locking down the RDP configuration is best. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly if you have continuing performance concerns. We can explore many things on our end, and you'd only need to come to the forum if a software possibility is most likely (inside yo...

Re: NFO midsummer sale!

We don't have a specific announcement on when the sale will end because it hasn't been fully set yet, but this is not meant to be a long-term sale. The coupons can be used multiple times, with the exception of the 20% off for new customers. Rencorner, please don't hesitate to contact us if you exper...

Re: NFO midsummer sale!

Rencorner, you'd just have to upgrade during the sale to set the grandfathered price. So you can certainly test whatever you'd like, but finalizing it during the sale is a good idea. This also won't be our only sale, and VDS prices march down over time, so if you can't decide now, you'll have other ...

Re: NFO midsummer sale!

mmc, yes, for as long as the same package is kept in the same configuration. We will never raise the price of a subscription that a customer signed up for.

Re: VPS - Unable to add Ram.

I was asking about this statement: So That leaves me with only being able to use half the memory since I cannot do something like 1536m. I was trying to understand why 1024 and 2048 would work, but not 1536. Java should allow pretty much any value to be specified. Whether it's enough for your specif...

NFO midsummer sale!

It's been awhile since we've had a sale, and it's time for another! We've released a set of coupon codes that are good for a short period of time: * 10% off any game server : Use coupon code DPRMYH * 15% off any VDS/VPS (excluding Windows fees): Use coupon code IZXOEX * 20% off new game servers for ...

1536M should work. Are you getting an error message with it?

Re: Increase in prices?

If you signed up during a sale period, the price may have gone back up afterward. But, all customers lock in their price for the server for as long as they own i with the same configuration (grandfathering), so you don't need to worry about the number on the page impacting you!

Re: question about VDS's, linux vs windows

1) You would use a screen invocation in your startup file. For instance, in Ubuntu, you might put a line like this in /etc/rc.local: sudo -u steam screen -AmdS tf2 /home/steam/servers/tf2/start_server.sh Which assumes: - That the user running the game server is 'steam' - That the game server is inst...

Re: question about VDS's, linux vs windows

Will I be able to add more cores easily? And if yes, how long will the downtime be? (i.e. from 1-2 minutes to up to 24 hours) It is easy to do this through the order page, yes. The downtime can range from just a couple of minutes to maybe 10-30 minutes, depending on if the machine hosting the servi...

Re: question about VDS's, linux vs windows

I would recommend starting with a core per game server and going from there. You can always upgrade the specifications later and only pay a prorated amount for the difference. Windows costs more due to the way that MIcrosoft licenses it to companies. Microsoft chooses to charge a particularly high a...

Re: Hyper-V on VPS

Nested virtualization is theoretically supported in Xen, but it's not an option that we have enabled right now or that we have tested.

For performance and compartmentalization reasons, I'd recommend running the webserver directly or (preferably) spinning up a separate VDS for it.
