Re: Dedicated Server Restart Help

I would actually recommend against doing multiple power cycles like that. If one doesn't work, it is best to open a Help request and have us take a look for you. Also, taking 2-3 minutes to boot up is normal after a proper Windows shutdown, like it was in this case. However, in other situations, whe...

Re: Dedicated Server Restart Help

A hard restart does not mean a server wipe, if that is what you are thinking. It just means turning the power off and on to get it to restart. It is not as ideal as a proper shutdown from within Windows, but you already did that anyway, so your work has been saved and the server is already powered d...

Re: Transfer

It is grandfathered in that situation, yes.

It does show a price on the first page, but after you select to have it added to your managed server and submit, the confirmation page should tell you differently, or at least tell you if there is a problem.

Re: VPN Blocking within 2012r2

I'm not sure about ways to block VPNs specifically and DDoS attacks usually come from bots instead of VPNs, but if you have an unmanaged VDS, you can add a list of IP addresses to a custom rule on the "Firewall" page in the NFO control panel. Blocking them there would also take the load of...

Re: A happy problem but a problem nonetheless, what do I do?

I don't have much input I can offer on a higher limit versus an alert on usage levels, as that comes down to management preferences on your part. Latency is largely determined by distance as the route travels (not as a bird flies), so you will want to pick a location that works best for your users. ...

Re: Mapchooser

If you have "Enable voting" checked in the NFO control panel, that plugin and 1-2 others will enable any time you save the "Easy setup" page.

Re: PHP 7.4 EOL

We try to give as much notice as possible in all situations. I wouldn't say that notices are usually less than 48 hours though. Something more minor like an overnight restart on a different service type, maybe, but certainly not major backend system changes on the webhosting like this. If you will n...

As in, a specific date and time? We don't have anything that specific yet, but when we do, we will post about it in the events log to let everyone know.

We usually make the change on or before EOL. The last I heard this was still the plan for 7.4 -> 8.x

Re: How to set up DKIM?

I'm not familiar enough with DKIM to advise on that. TXT records would be in quotes like your example shows, but I'm pretty sure there cannot be a space between them, just one quote ends and another begins. It has been awhile since I last tested it though. The site has no official support for using ...

Re: Different games, running on the same VM

On the server side, rather than going through and making sure proper filters are set, where it can be easy to overlook something, I recommend testing with all server side firewalls disabled temporarily. If you do that, and the Minecraft server is binding to the correct IP and port in the logs, and t...

Re: Different games, running on the same VM

Which OS are you running? Are you able to test connecting to the Minecraft server locally? Also, this may sound obvious, but have you checked to make sure no firewalls are blocking it somehow?

Re: Different games, running on the same VM

You can often run multipole game servers on the same IP as long as the ports are not conflicting. From the sounds of it, The Minecraft server is having its own, separate problem. If you think it may be conflicting with the other game server, a quick way to test is to shut the other server down tempo...
