We have resisted installing the beta and running a server on an unmanaged rig but from a community standpoint we'd like to be prepared to host it as soon as the game is released.

I do not recommend using the shared webhosting as a remote database, but he can try it. If he does this, he may need to enable external connections if he uses a custom reverse DNS; anything from "%.nfoservers.com" is already allowed. It was suggested in prior discussions in the NFO forums...

If it helps the process along here is a look at out database as it sits now. It looks like we are lacking map specific data for Chernarus and of course Taviana (or any map for that matter)
