So basically its the lack of a config. What you could do is ask for special parts, ex: more ram, 4 ssd config etc. You might need to do a 3-6 month money down thing. But you should ask, John.
I mean you won't find a better and stable network for this price range.

Re: It's time to say farewell
We are at the point where NFOservers can not handle our mechanics, custom content, and influx in playerbase. That makes no sense whatsoever. I doubt you could use all that bandwidth for servers.. But overall the reason I am deciding to move away from NFO is purely due to performance reasons. Are yo...

Re: Sniper Elite 3: Available?
Well SE3 is kinda dead, but has more people playing than some of NFOs hosted titles. Sniper Elite 4 hosting would be good.

Re: Allocating More Space to /boot
Actually I still have this problem on Ubuntu 16.04. Each time I update I need to delete older kernel images.Edge100x wrote:Yes, you could.
Newer Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 installs don't have this problem, since they use a single partition.

Re: VPS Plan for multiple HL1 engine servers?
Quick learning ability is not in question here. Managed Linux hosting would not increase your price, not even by a dime. HLDS on Linux comes with an auto restart script, but it does fail at times. Ping Booster is once again using different scheduler from my knowledge. You need to understand kernel ...

Re: VPS Plan for multiple HL1 engine servers?
So if you will be running 1.6 and CZ you can go the managed route which basically is taking away root access and you a given a control panel which you can create game servers without the need to configure anything in the OS, all you need to worry about is what plugins you'd like to use. You can run ...

Re: VPS Plan for multiple HL1 engine servers?
Oh... how about in terms of ddos attacks and everything? If I'm not compeltely tech savy how do I go about all of these kernel tweaks.. and everything else? NFO will filter out small attacks and null route med ones. There are also other measures you can take to prevent attacks through their firewal...

Re: VPS Plan for multiple HL1 engine servers?
Hey there, just looking at your VDS offers and have a couple questions about how this whole VDS thing works.. before I order. I've used a VDS before.. but never for steam servers, it was more of a radio host for a local business website through my job. But in regards to game servers 1. If I'm runni...

My guess, it probably doesn't work with SM 1.8+ see what versions it supports and use that.

Re: VDSes get more bandwidth at lower prices
ArmA3 gobbles down as much single-core performance as it cans and likes very fast CPUs. It also spreads out onto a couple of other cores, at least for some missions and when AI is involved. So, it is sort of intensive all around. VDS and full machine server pricing is less complicated for us becaus...

Re: VDSes get more bandwidth at lower prices
A dedicated server in itself or used to offer standalone servers is always going to be better than a VPS/VDS. For the best performance always get a dedicated server. Besides I would venture to say NFO and most server providers make more off vds and hosted rentals than they ever do of dedi boxes Yea...
