Some lag at InterNAP last night
I had a few sharp people emailing me about lag at InterNAP last night around midnight. I looked into it, and InterNAP was doing some repair work on one of the routers servicing our connection, and the result was a loss of connectivity at times between 12am and 4am. They say everything is fixed and t...

InterNAP is upgrading
There may be intermittent lag early this morning (Friday morning) for our InterNAP Seattle servers -- InterNAP is performing router software upgrades. They should finish by 3:40am.
Verio
Our Verio servers were down for about 12 hours last night starting at 11 PM PST; our provider installed a faulty network cable that brought all our machines offline there. They repaired the problem this morning and have assured us that it will never happen again. While the servers were down, we also...

Normally that won't happen unless your server machine is offline or a script is broken. Is your server at Verio? We had some problems with the provider last night starting at around 11pm, and the servers were down for about 12 hours total. I sent out an email to all the Verio renters about the issue...

Server problem, now fixed
We had some downtime this afternoon and this evening for one of our servers at InterNAP, internally referred to as internap-dual173. The machine apparently had some bad RAM and an incompatibility between the motherboard and the operating system. After a long troubleshooting session at the datacenter...
I hope so too.. my worst beef with it right now is that it continually crashes. Our test server is one for NWGaming, so you should be able to find it under NWGaming (something something) in the servers list. It's hosted on a dual 2.2 at Verio and right now I have it on low priority so it won't lag t...

Re: Quick Question
Hello I'm really thinking of getting a rental from Nuclear Fallout, but I have a couple of questions. Ok we all know when some people use "QuickStart" from Counter-Strike will my server be available for people to play on or will I have manually give people my ip? It will show up in the in...
bf1942?
I've gotten several inquiries on whether we will be renting out Battlefield 1942 servers. At this point there are only a few things holding us back: * The servers use tons of CPU (we're still figuring out how much, but 5% of a dual 2.2 machine with just one person is pretty insane). * They suck down...

Another DoS attack on our InterNAP servers
We're experiencing another DoS attack today on our InterNAP Seattle location. Some servers will not be responding as a result, and others will be lagging. We're working on the problem.
Update: Everything has returned to some semblance of normalcy at this point. Thanks for your patience.

Control panel faster
I've upgraded the control panel and server database backend to be MySQL, and as a result the control panel runs faster and more reliably. I also will be adding more features to it later, as they are easier to add with the new system. As part of the upgrade, I have also revamped the server page to al...

Hard to say what might have been causing the differences. Oftentimes the map and server settings have a significant impact on the latency in-game. Of course, since both servers are hosted at the same facility, actual ping (from the command line) to both servers is the same. Have you tried tweaking y...

One server machine was down tonight..
For between a half-hour and an hour, one of our boxes at InterNAP (a dual Xeon 2.2ghz) was down tonight. The operating system had become corrupt and it would not boot. I have remedied the problem by rolling back to an earlier configuration of the server; unfortunately, since the server hadn't been r...

Another denial of service attack
We're being attacked again tonight. The attack started at around 6pm and it has continued constantly (it is now 7:30pm, PST). We've been on the phone with InterNAP regarding the flood of traffic, and they are working to block out the malicious data. This attack is causing ping spikes and jumps. I wi...
