Re: MySQL not Remotely accessable
Are you connecting to and from NFO powered servers? From what I know, by default NFO won't allow other hosts to connect to their SQL databases. You need to open a ticket and ask them to allow that particular IP.

Re: wine on ubuntu, slow disk reads--any advice?
Did you monitor the resource usage when the map change takes place? If not then please make sure that you are not running out of CPU power.

Re: wine on ubuntu, slow disk reads--any advice?
Then you shouldn't have switched over to Linux. Wine can run programs, but it can't match the performance as they would get in native environment.
Not much can be done about it, in my opinion.

Are you running the server under wine? If yes then that explains the load times.
Is the server even available on Linux platform?

Re: Why dont boxes come with free webhosting?
VDS comes under 2 different setups: Unmanaged In this setup, you are free to run anything that doesn't break NFO terms of service. Setting a web server is really easy on a Linux box. I never tried it on Windows, but it should be fairly simple as well. Managed Managed box can only have game servers o...

Re: Best Linux Distro for CS:GO Server / Crash Help
What I'm saying is that it could be one of your plugins that is causing this issue. Try to run the server without metamod and sourcemod.

Re: Best Linux Distro for CS:GO Server / Crash Help
I don't use all those plugins. Its hard for me to say, if they are the reason behind crashes, but they there is always a possibility.
I would suggest you to disable all the plugins and check, if the server still crashes.

Re: Best Linux Distro for CS:GO Server / Crash Help
Won't say that kernel is to blame for the crash, but if you are considering switching distro, then try gentoo 32 bit. I had best results with it.
The fps drops were minimal on gentoo, while using default kernel from nfo auto install setup.

Re: need some info on specs of web site
You cannot. The machines are built with the proportion of CPU:HDD in mind I would assume, so allowing say 500GB on a single core wouldn't leave enough for other VDS's. I understand that, but if I can get a word from NFO team, that would be great. Also, You failed at quoting me in your reply....

Re: need some info on specs of web site
Thank-you for your post. Yes it is related to 17buddies and I don't want to see that site lost. If it is possible and it can be saved then why not? And yes we would have to up the plan to cover that much traffic. I like that site too, but this is just the result of poor planning on their part. Site...

Re: need some info on specs of web site
I want to create a sub domain a php/mysql server able to accommodate 400GB of maps and support 2,000 users a day. So that is why I am inquiring. Is this possible with the system NFO provides. Wait a min here! 400 GB storage and 2,000 users a day. That makes me feel this has to be related to 17buddi...

Re: need some info on specs of web site
NFO provides excellent web hosting and you don't have to worry about running out of RAM or storage space. For the most part this link should be enough. http://www.nfoservers.com/webhosting.php#differences If, you want in-depth info, then there is a way to check the disk space and RAM, but its throug...

Re: ways to transfer files
FTP is the best option, since you mentioned mediafire. It means you are on unmanaged box. Please mention, if its linux or windows.
