Thank you so much. Now I know what to say with confidence when I email him .
So there is no way to limit the size of the temporary file being written or timeout the query?

Re: mysql caused massive disk consumption - Is there a fix?
Wow, mysql is a bit over my head.
Okay, so I can assume the problem is the developer who wrote that package/mod for SMF, I believe from what I gather when you say "the person writing it".
Is there a way to timeout such broken queries?

mysql caused massive disk consumption - Is there a fix?
I was requested by support to make a post on the forums regarding my recent support request about mysql causing my VDS to consume massive amounts of disk space. I will copy my initial support question so that I may receive answers to my question. I have resolved the issue causing massive disk usage....

Re: HLDS Unix
Not exactly true. On a dual setup - you would at least have more room for other threads such as from the OS that would otherwise affect your performance on a single core.

Re: Ports?
Yes. Just make sure both servers are bound to different IP's. Then you can use the same port.

My Ping is Suddenly higher (new traceroute path)
Ever Since I've been living in my apartment I've had a ping to the server of about 30ms-40ms to my VDS Suddenly since last night, my ping has risen to 60-70ms to my VDS. Looking at the traceroute, I assume it's on comcast end. About four more hops have been added before it hits Huntsville AL. I will...

Re: Remote Desktop Won't Connect to my VDS
I've had it bug out before on me too preventing me from being able to login. use the VNC in the NFO control panel to control your VDS, then launch services.msc and find the two remote desktop services and restart them. That was the fix for my problem.

How to ban all special characters from a TS3 server
Teamspeak 3 Spent a bit of time googling how to use regular expressions to ban all characters except a-z, A-Z, 0-9 in nicknames on TS3. After a bit of thinking, I had to allow [ ] also considering my communitys tag name is [TOG]. It's not been a problem for my server, but I decided I would address t...

Re: FEAR Server
Edit: I have misread the first post. Is that a line out of a batch script? If that's so, it looks like the -userdirectory needs to be added the "C:\Game installs\Fear Server\user" somewhere. I haven't run a fear server before either. But doesn't that need to be launching some kind of execu...

Re: Webhosting email lacks an important feature
Thanks . I would be happy with even a simple, basic script that asked for the users email, old pass, new pass, and a captcha.. And maybe require email verification before approval of new password.
