I've never heard of an ISP lodging complaints against other servers like this unless said server was involved in some illegal activities such as attacking customers on shaw..etc(Still unlikely an immediate shutdown is the first action)

Re: I hate hurricane electric
Any documentation? Sorry, these days you hear a lot of chit chat, rarely ever see proper documentation to back it up.

Re: I hate hurricane electric
Now that's some hefty accusations. Any proof to back that up? Doubtful Shaw has the authority to do such a thing. Even the government doesn't without the proper legal steps..=QUACK=.Major.Pain wrote:Shaw just make idiotic complaints to datacenters and has peoples dedicated servers shut down.

Love Shaw (My ISP) and Internap. Direct peering in Seattle for sure, and Chicago to I believe.

Good read if you want to look how they are doing it. Glad to see a large company of their size open about the hardware, software and plans of implementation into existing networks.

Re: 3-core vs 4-core plans: how does CPU speed compare?
Unlike most host that shares CPU resources between a VDS, NFO gives you dedicated HT cores. This gives you a better idea of what you VDS can handle load-wise, and you can benefit from the performance of your own personal HT cores. I don't like to share my sammich, let alone CPU!

Re: VDS Redirect Servers
Something like this: http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=10072 And to make it seem full, I just ran podbot in each server to it seems there's users playing. I first started doing it about 6 years when not many did it and it worked extremely well. Now, doesn't work as well as everyone does ...

Direct Peering
John,
Can you confirm Internap has a direct peer with Shaw Cable in Seattle? Or is it Chicago only?
Thanks!

Godaddy has 20 pages of crap. Namecheap took maybe 2 minutes.

The OS is Hyper-v 2008 R2. Don't think there's going to be anyway to do this through cmd.

Re: BORED - Ordering Parts
Well, ran into my first snag. Had 4 - 1TB disks in it, one seems to have gone bad already. So, replaced the bad drive, went into the onboard controller and went to rebuild and there is no rebuild to be found. Contacted Asus and they said to simply replace the drive and the array will recognize the n...

Re: There's still a niche need for faster CPU's
I know kraze, but it isn't the mod that places the load on it, it is the way its played. On a typical de_dust2 server with 64 players(which is stupid) the 1270 would run fine, but this game mode, where there are 60 players in the same area, at the same time, fighting and shooting, check the "O...

Re: There's still a niche need for faster CPU's
The CPU's themselves can run most games just fine, it's the mods that add the extra load to it. Especially with most most games including CSS only being lightly multithreaded. The main thing isn't really faster CPU's, it is developers making these games work better with multiple cores. Agreed! Manu...
