Re: domain name

I use namecheap for domain leasing and direct my clients to do so as well. They provide some services that other companies will charge for (ie. whoisguard). As for renewing, that questions has been answered plenty of times already. As for "hosting off the NFO servers" can you clarify speci...

Re: A request for the staff of NFOservers.com

Thank you both again for your responses, this is going to help me greatly! If it isn't too much trouble, could either/both of you please email me confirmation that this took place? They require confirmation to ensure students don't interview themselves or something. My email address is shane.meikle(...

Re: A request for the staff of NFOservers.com

Kraze and hiimcody1, thank you very much for the responses! Kraze, I agree that this is a field where the ability to learn quickly is an asset. I am fond of the phrase "I may not know everything, but I do know where to find the answers". Hiimcody1, the correlation between the company and M...

Re: A request for the staff of NFOservers.com

Kraze, Thank you for your response. I will go ahead and post my questions here as I am interested in hearing from each and every staff member who is interested in replying! 1) What level of experience and/or education is required of the employees of NFOservers? 2) What problems (if any) come with th...

A request for the staff of NFOservers.com

Hello, I have an unusual request to make, but please bear with me. I currently have an assignment for a school project in which I need to conduct an informational interview with a business that is related to the field that I am getting in to. NFO servers is a perfect fit for that! About me: I am cur...

Re: Questions for NFO community (pre sales)

I ran into a rather complicated issue. My so called "partners" in the gaming community I was planning on building up have bailed, leaving me to come up with the finances for this. It is going to take me some time to secure continual funding for this (two to three months) and I was wonderin...

Re: HLStats plugin loading

Yeah, got that part down already, but what I wanted to do was track each server separately (each one with its own database) and then one community wide stats that tracks all servers as a whole as well. I am thinking that my little workaround may be the quickest and easiest method. Create a 4 slot du...

Re: HLStats plugin loading

Since this question is within the boundaries of loading, I will ask it here instead of throwing up another topic. Is it possible to set up HLStats to do the following: Track each server differently + all servers at once? What I mean is this: Server 1 - Tracked separate Server 2 - Tracked separate Se...

Re: MANI vs SM & ES vs no ES

I am beginning to love SM as well, being away for so long, the whole "familiarity" with MANI has wore down and I am finding SM to be a better alternative. I haven't noticed any performance issues with ES, but as it has been stated, a lot of those mods are (or have been) ported to SM.

Re: Want some information before buying a VDS

With my experience thus far with NFO, I would say a 4 core VDS would be okay, not to mention that they allow upgrading at any time at pro-rated costs, so if the four doesn't work out, you can easily upgrade to 8, and it happens fairly quickly. Of course, there is the "more power is always bette...

Re: CSS server crashing with same error

Not sure if that was really the cause as I have gone to quite a few well populated servers to see how stable they were running, and people were connecting/disconnecting all the time, none of them crashing from that. I have played on my own server with bots enabled, with minimal chatter from them and...

Re: Problems connecting to battle.net / port forwarding ques

So it seems like all Chicago IPs are free to host on Blizzard's servers! At this point in time yes, but to be honest, considering their (Blizzards) policy at this time, how long do you expect it to last? There is also one more consideration to make, and that is this: If Blizzard if viewing these ac...

Re: Problems connecting to battle.net / port forwarding ques

I haven't had too many negative dealings with the Blizzard support staff, so I would have to think that their lack of response is in fact due to the whole "previous users abusing services" issue. Despite this, their inability to provide better communications to NFO(especially in the case o...
