Multiple Gameservers on Same IP?
Is it possible to do this? With different ports for each? Or would I need to get more IPs to be able to use for more servers under the same VDS?

Re: Gentoo Install Performance
Thanks for all the clarification, it seems to me after extensive testing (15+ hours) that Debian is a fantastic choice for me. Literally I have an almost basic install with a gameserver of 8 slots on the Linux single core plan, and constantly throughout the testing people would say it's their new fa...

Re: Gentoo Install Performance
We have tweaks in our managed installs, but they're not specific to Gentoo. Unless you are an experienced Linux user or don't mind spending extra time learning, I don't recommend starting with Gentoo. 32-bit and 64-bit should work similarly for small servers, but 64-bit is preferred. I will need to...

Gentoo Install Performance
On the OS installation of the control panel, it says Gentoo is 32bit, but it's also said on the forums that Gentoo has specific tweaks for SRCDS servers. Would switching from some other x64 Linux to x32 Gentoo make much if any difference? Curious about if x64 is better, why were the SRCDS tweaks mad...

Re: SSH File Transferring On Debian 7
+1 for filezilla in SFTP mode. Just change the Protocol when you add the site to SFTP and enter your SSH login information and you're good to go! Does that mean i need to setup a webserver first then? I still don't get the reason for getting another Linux server setup... so that I can transfer file...

I don't understand the need for a middleman with forwarding.

Re: SRCDS VDS Wheezy
l4d1, not 2, and it says on the forum post for the enabler itself that it fixes the limits simply by installing it. Will look into kernel sources.

Re: SSH File Transferring On Debian 7
sFTP/SCP also allows file transfer commands over net? I've got PuTTy already, and already have access to the server through it. PuTTy doesn't allow file transfer commands, only a remote-control-like command line? With PuTTy you can use the scp command on the OS, wouldn't that work? Edit: Thought I h...

Re: SRCDS VDS Wheezy
Actually, mind me asking how you improved the kernel? What, exactly, did you do? Aren't all #ms timers the same? I'd absolutely love one that wasn't 'just 1000hz', which is a random 700-900, but more of a more stable 600-650, or something like 990.1 perfect, like I've been able to do extremely stabl...

SSH File Transferring On Debian 7
How would I accomplish this? (SSH is much easier to use than I originally thought LOL) Aparently scp is the command to use, but I tried a variation or two and it didnt seem to do it, it said *identifier* was an invalid host. Could I get the correct formatting for downloading files from my VDS to my ...

Re: SRCDS VDS Wheezy
It is also worth noting that it is absolutely pointless to raise the tickrate of a l4d 1/2 server, as the game limits the value of "rate" to 30k, and cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate to 30 or 33 if I remember correctly. Replying because it seems since satanic spirit brought it up again, that ...

Re: Start/Stop/Restart Script that allows users to perform a
I am running a Windows 2003 VPS. So how would I go about doing this if I am unable to do it via FTP? Easy, create (or better, if someone else already has one created) a script that restarts the server executable when it stops, then the servers always stay online. If a server needs to be restarted, ...

Re: SRCDS VDS Wheezy
My solution is to use the new server files and request that someone (most probably the creator of the tickrate plugin, prodigysim) recompile the source code against the new version of the l4d SDK, as per powerlord's suggestion. This should allow the tickrate enabler to work correctly on linux with t...

Re: SRCDS VDS Wheezy
You are also running CSS, I'm running the plugin made specifically for l4d. Considering the size differences are over 33% apart, I doubt they're interchangeable, regardless, same error on that one, just doesn't load.soja wrote:I use the plugins from here:
