Re: Gmail rejecting mail.
Google has become pickier over time about requiring that the email address have a matching SPF entry. I recommend: 1. Creating an email address on your own domain (through the Mail page) 2. Setting up a SPF entry to allow emails using your domain from hosted18.nfoservers.com (https://forums.nfoserve...

Re: ipv6
Progress is being made as I am available to work on it. There are a bunch of little edge cases that need to be dealt with, as with so many systems, but most of the Firewall page is done and tested. IPv6-only will at least not initially be available on our end. Customers an choose to block IPv4 throu...

Re: ipv6
We're close to expanding the beta to more people. I have been working on the Firewall page this week, which is the most important remaining component. Nowadays, it's really an essential feature.

On a managed server, we don't currently support that garrysmod beta.

Re: Windows server 2016 stuck on 0% updating.
The "extended end date" is 2027. The "mainstream end date" is 2022. This makes its normal EOL 2027, yes. As a practical matter, the "mainstream end date" doesn't matter, as Microsoft hasn't been releasing notable feature updates for Windows 2016 anyhow. Windows 2012 ha...

Re: Windows server 2016 stuck on 0% updating.
I've seen this generic situation when the windows firewall service is disabled (or, related, when the BFE service is disabled). Have you checked and made sure that both of those services are running? If it's not that, then you may need to try resetting the update subsystem via the standard steps (i....

We won't be allowed to host this game here. I don't have any information from EA on it, either.

Re: Question Regarding Sale
The price of a service is set at the time of ordering/adjustment and is kept the same for as long as it remains in the same configuration.
We don't have a sale to announce right now.

Re: NFO Down?
Comcast seems to be having an issue in the Seattle area, at least with one upstream (Cogent). This was causing traffic from our servers in Seattle to Comcast customers to take scenic paths around the country -- such as through Miami -- and with high packet loss. I troubleshooted the problem and made...

Re: Error connecting to database: [1040]: Too many connections
Yes, it doesn't sound like it was you. Quite possibly, another customer's site was misconfigured or broken, or another customer was seeing an attack that led his site to slow down and hold open many connections. If you see it again, please let us know through the support system -- hopefully we can c...

Re: Error connecting to database: [1040]: Too many connections
The limit TimeX is thinking of is actually enforced outside of MySQL and would not give this error. As far as I know, the "Too many connections" error only occurs when MySQL itself hits max_connections. If you're still seeing it, please have your support request escalated to me, and I can ...

Re: tcpdump command
I'm not sure why you'd get something with cut-off output like that. In the versions of tcpdump that we use, it provides what you see in the control panel.

Re: tcpdump command
It uses a command line substantially similar to:
tcpdump -nvXp -s 100
tcpdump -nvXp -s 100
