Are you kidding me? (To the previous few posters)

Check any of the dev vlogs and you will see they are all extremely hard at work. Instead of releasing small, boring updates, they are releasing a giant one... and soon.

I am in full advocation for a Rust server

I hope that as part of their updates they plan to listen to their customers and expand the hosting options.

Yes, we've been testing the experimental branch since he posted about it. Experimental likely has another month or so before it's ready to be played full time and he updates it like 20 times a day, so we're still in a holding pattern.

I'd encourage anyone and everyone to join that server and help us get numbers. So far I haven't been able to gather good resource numbers.

Well you might luck out with hosting servers.

They were favoring 2 GSPs to host Rust servers. HFB Servers and Gameservers.
Well it seems the the owner of HFB Servers scammed all his customers, took their money, shutdown all the servers and went out of business. For several months now their has been a lot of chatter about small claims lawsuits against the owner.

So that should open the door a little bit more for a new company to host the game servers.

I've gone ahead and started investigating Rust again and have put up a community server. If anyone would like to join and help us test it'd be much appreciated.

You can connect via console by pressing F1 and pasting client.connect 74.91.115.193:28015 or just look for "NFOservers.com: Community server" in the browser.

As per usual, expect server crashes and bugs..etc.

Sounds good, will check it out. I would really love to rent a Rust server with NFO, our clan just got into the game and we were disappointed that it wasn't on the list. Hope you guys will be able to add it soon :)

It's definitely coming, but Rust still has a ways to go before it's going to be considered stable enough. To be frank, if it supported IP binding and actually read from config files I'd likely recommend we open orders for it, but it doesn't support these things.

It's also a bit of a ram hog at the moment. That server I put up uses over GB of ram on boot and with about 20 players in there it was using 1.5GB. I can't imagine what a 50+ person server would use.

Would love it if you all could get Rust support soon. I have used you all for Battlefield and never really had any issues. If I did, your support staff was top notch. Not really digging GameServers' service or support.
