Seriously? Anyone else?
I'm not seeing that. When I'm sitting at the menu's, it's taking about 400-600 MB. When in game it jumps to ~950MB. That doesn't seem too unreasonable to me, however, I was a little more surprised to see it using 35% of a 4770K that is clocked at 4.8. I sure hope the server takes far less resources to run.....

I'd be able to test if I could find the so called "public server files".....

Been idling empty for a few hours now, and is at 1.46 gigs RAM usage. Possible memory leak?

Anyone else got a server running?

You have to buy the game to get the server. The game files are the server as well. Its ridiculous. There is a server launcher or you can run it via a command line. I am running it as a server on my VDS, and these are the results I am seeing. At launch and idle it is at 1.1 gigs RAM, after a few hours sitting idle it is almost 1.5 gigs of RAM.

Ok. I did some testing on one of my dedicated servers.

I ran two instances (with slightly different configs), and I'm not seeing anywhere near that RAM consumption.

There has been absolutely zero growth, and the RAM has stayed at ~283 MB. The CPU is staying at 1-2% (while completely empty).

What startup parameters are you using for yours? Maybe there is a leak and I'm just not hitting it?

What does it do when you join the server?

Using FireDaemon to run.

server Warehouse_PC?Game=Rikochet.RGameInfo_Team_DM?bShouldAdvertise=true?NumPublicConnections=16?bAllowInvites=true?bUsesStats=true?bIsDedicated=true?multihome=74.91.112.97 -log -nullRHI

Image

Just restarted, it was at 1.7 gigs of RAM usage. Re-start and its back to 1.1 gigs

Ok. I tried your exact line (with exception of IP of course) and I'm still getting the exact same amount of RAM consumption. Weird that it would deviate that much....

Did you make any other configuration changes for the server that could be coming into play here? I only changed the default player name, and the server name in the DefaultGame.ini

Note: I'm genuinely interested in finding out what it is that is going on so that we can have this info to help NFO. :)

Not much actually. The CPU stays at 1-2% and the RAM still stays below 300MB total.

Thank you. I found that one but haven't been able to get anything to work.
BTW, have you tried the REK (Rekondite) game mode? It's great and a lot of fun

REK is a fun gametype.

I found a set up tutorial at http://www.totalrekoil.com/index.php?th ... erver.515/

Did you open up TCP 4580 on your server, once launched you can go to http://your_server_ip:4580/ and admin from there - change password right away of course.

Sorry for the double post, didn't see a way to edit my post.

For the RAM usage, would it make a difference if you were using the win 32 binaries or the win 64 binaries?

64 bit applications will use slightly more memory, because they use 64 bit memory addresses instead of 32, but it's not significant. If the difference in performance is measurable, you'll see better performance on the 64 bit application.
