thats no upgrade, everyone has access to the 1200 mbps capacity we have in LA, its not a specific gigabit connection to a server.

Yes, in LA we have a gigabit fiber link to Level3 and two 100mbps links to InterNAP.

Its easy to think that a single server may have that when you read the BS that other server hosts claim such as having OC3 connections and dedicated 100MB to each server. Not only is it totaly wrong but its also overkill for just 1 server.

not really, it guarnees your server won't lag when those high pingers enter the server. Plus I can proudly say "The server isn't lagging, its you"

Most of the time though, except when something stupid happens to the server.

I'd be very suprised if a server (not a box with several servers running but a single server) even used 1/4 of a 100MB connection.

I've never seen a game server machine use more than 5mbps, and that was really pushing it.
