Downgrade

Post by .=QUACK=.Major.Pain »

I was wondering if we downgraded from a VDS and went with just a TS3 server, could we retain our ip, and could we somehow retain our TS3 settings?

You would not be able to retain your IP address, as we run TS3 servers on a shared IP address at each location.

You would only be able to carry over your settings if you can find a 3rd party tool that supports doing this through the ServerQuery interface without needing to use the built-in import/export function (which we do not expose for security reasons).

Ok - just wanted to check before I decided what to do. I got caught last renewal not changing before so I am getting prepared.
We have only been using our VDS for TS3 mostly for the past year or more. The odd game for the kids.

I think I will just downgrade to a 2 core and retain everything for now.

its generally a good idea to set up your teamspeak domain via a service record, this eliminates the strong need to retain IP addresses.
