Web Server

Post by doulos9 »

This has nothing to do with NFO but I am hoping someone can help me figure this out.

I set up a linux webserver for my church and it worked perfectly at home. It works fine from inside the network using the LAN IP, but no one can connect to it using the web URL.

I have:

1.) set and verified the DNS of the site.
2.) I have forwarded port 80 to the LAN IP of the webserver.

Set up: internet > comcast business modem > Linksys E3000 router > webserver - cannot see this server from the web.

Home set up: intenet > comcast home modem > Cisco E4200 router > webserver - everything worked fine

Anyone know anything about setting up a webserver behind a comcast business modem?

http://testing.temple-baptist.com I got it working. I was able to log into the comcast modem and forward port 80 to the router.

This is a history website built by a 70+ year old member of the church.

Thanks.

The modem should be placed in bridge mode if you are using your own router.

I have nothing to do with the set up at this church, nor will I. I was given the login information for the modem and forwarded the port to the router. Works perfectly now.

Thanks.
