Days of War

Post by TacTicToe »

New game hit Kick Starter. This is a WW2 FPS which looks to be the upgrade for DoDS with hopefully some Wolfenstein thrown in. Being made on Unreal 4, we will be able to host our own servers, and there will be mod/map tools for this game. I quite look forward to a great WW2 shooter.

Check it out and keep an eye on this one.

Alpha launches in 2 days. Already have an alpha server installed on our box. Pretty nice. Unreal 4 server that's at 850 megs RAM and 0% CPU at launch. For an Unreal 4 server AND alpha status, that is pretty sweet. Cant wait to see how it holds up once it starts filling with players! :)

0% CPU at idle? I don't believe it!

That performance at empty sounds very reasonable for an UE4 game and I'm interested to see how well it does under load.

I would not fib. One server empty, the other has a half dozen players atm.

Believe me, for a first launch ALPHA, I am extremely impressed. Unfortunately, there is an NDA in place, so what I can divulge is limited. :|

Hows the functionality of the dedicated server itself, thus far? Also, is IP binding fully supported?

Crap just saw your post Kraze, sorry.

Server is rudimentary as you would expect for early alpha. There is no IP binding atm. Game client is used as a server. Server currently has quite the memory leak going on that is being tracked down. There solution atm is restarts every 12 or 24 hours.

When playing it is pretty smooth. There are some bugs in maps, weapons etc that are being worked on as well.

About as much into it as I can get, since there is a NDA in place.

Sorry.

IMO once it reached final release status, it will be a great and smooth running game. Ability to host, and create mods and maps is going to be a huge bonus.
