512MB Ram Option?

Post by stickz »

Is there any chance a 512MB ram option could make it's way to the order page? 1GB is sometimes more than required on smaller sized instances and makes pricing less competitive.

For a VDS, CPU is primarily our limiting factor, not memory -- we have more than 1 GB of memory per CPU core (and we could put even more into these machines, if we needed to; that isn't the case with CPU cores). This is why we have the option to upgrade memory, but not to downgrade it.

I think you might have misunderstood my previous post. I was mentioning a 512MB upgrade option from the default memory amount.

Ah. You did not say that you were referring to an upgrade option.

A 512 MB upgrade option is not a request that I have heard for other customers, but it is something that we can consider.
