External Server Monitoring

Post by Freyar »

Just out of curiosity, is there any recommendations for monitoring (with either push notifications, email, SMS) a game server or two? Part of me is kinda obsessive over all this and wants to know when the server goes down and to be able to record uptime (mostly curiosity's sake). I can also get to the control panel pretty easily on my phone, unlike my previous provider, which means I can deal with giving the servers a kick if there's a problem.

Not sure if it is what you are looking for, but you can enable (enabled by default) email notifications when an event is posted to your "Events log" page in the NFO control panel, which will post if an automated server restart or repair happens.

That's what I'm using for now. I think I'll just let it go for the time being.
