Im seeing incredible amount of spam on these forums
Re: Spam
Yes, spammers have been hitting us hard today and we're having to go through and frequently cull it. You may see a portion of this spam before it's deleted.
Just a pain, and nothing too unusual. It tends to come in waves.

Re: Spam
May I suggest the addition of a basic question/answer to the forum registration page? I use to get and ban 26 spammers a day as well as their IP addresses for 2 weeks before implementing one of these on my own. And haven't had one since. Of course I have added the following questions to mine.
You could go as far as to ask
"What do you get free if you rent a game server from Nuclear Fallout?"
- An economic and political association of certain European nations with internal free trade and common external tarrifs is known as the European _____.
- Canada is _____ of the United States. (Cardinal Direction)
- Give a man a ____, he eats for a day, teach a man to ____, he eats for a lifetime.
- How many continents are there in the world?
- How many total shoe laces are in one pair of shoes?
- The largest organ of the human body is the ____. (Hint: It is not IN the body, it is OF the body, and you see it all day every day.)
- The name of this web site is _____ _____.
- You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make him _____.

Re: Spam
Actually I've been getting a russian spammer on my forums too today. Only 1 of them was able to register...
Re: Spam
We have an extra security question already, in addition to the captcha. We also require verification by email. Raising the bar further could work against us, as many legitimate clients do not know the answers to basic questions, too, and don't like to jump through hoops even if they do .
Most spammers that we get are human and not robots, interestingly, and usually we go days or weeks before a blitz comes through.
