You can try running your server at a tickrate of 100, if you wish, using one of the simple plugins available that overrides the default forced setting of 66 (such as this one). However, doing so alters the game's physics, which have been tweaked and tested with 66, and will have negative consequences in-game. More specifically, Valve has said that it will cause overall "timing issues" (http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki ... Networking), affecting things like weapon timings (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1319021) and how fast doors open and close (http://store.steampowered.com/news/3976/). It will also cause problems with hit registry.
Many of our servers still have "-tickrate 100" on the command line, so installing one of the plugins is all that it takes to run a server at 100. New servers are created without "-tickrate 100" on the command line, since some mods (most notably, Garrysmod) can't handle it being specified; if the enabler plugin doesn't work, please contact us so that we can check and adjust your command line for you.
Can I run my Orangebox (CS:S/TF2/DoDS) server at 100 tick?

For those who try running at a 100 tickrate and find that doors open/close to fast, try this plugin: http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=892090
