HTTP Fast Asset Downloading and .res files?

I see you had a problem with cs_crest .res,I did to when I uploaded it onto our server with http downloading.The .res that came with it was/is messed up.The mapper missed completely models/trash_cornerT.mdl line that ends up causing a fatal error for the client.I fixed that and it runs fine!

That works for sure!

the de_vegas.wad just upload that to your website ftp only,it'll download to your clients.I've had problems with a few maps always it's been something with the .res or missing files or files in the wrong place. I banged my head against my desk for a week trying to get one map to work(de_prodigy2k)

Hey, I am currently reppresenting for [: BdR :] Server.

Anyways, I just got everything finished with our site and server. I tryed to hook up the sv_downloadurl but...

Well in reality here is what it is, it's 9:35am, I have been up for 2 days strait, and my eye balls feel like they are dryed out from staring at this screen for so long. Is there any way for someone to hop on our server and check out the new configs to make sure everything is A.O.K.? I would do it myself but at this point I am about as usefull as a fart in a wind storm.

setup is no problem you'll just need to have the space

also SmartFTP is a good program to have to manage your files with

1.with SmartFTP load up all your server files to
BdRServer.com or whatever your website is
make a new folder on your site...(my_cstrike)

2.then put the usual folder setup in my_cstrike
>>>cstrike
>>>>>gfx
>>>>>maps ....and make .res files for all the maps with resgen

>>>>>overviews and so on...

3.then add whatever the path is to your download content

sv_downloadurl "http://BdR.com/my_cstrike/cstrike"

to your server.cfg

that's it

Of course I have to says this...I'm new to this...
My buddy has a NucFal server up and running, and has always had problems w/upload of some maps. He says it's cause there's no .res file. He can create them, but still has problems with some maps. I'd like to be able to create good res files for maps I send him to upload. Where I'm at: I downloaded the RESGen program and tried everything to get it create the res files for my maps. CMD, c:\valve\condition zero\cstrike\maps
is where my maps are. I've read the readme, followed instructions and still no-go. Any help??
