Setting up a Killing Floor Server on my VDS

Post by demoncatlord »

I keep getting this error, when I try running the steamcmd.exe via command prompt.

[quote=Error]
C:\SteamCMD>steamcmd
Redirecting stderr to 'C:\SteamCMD\logs\stderr.txt'
ILocalize::AddFile() failed to load file "public/steambootstrapper_english.txt".

I'm trying to set up a Killing Floor server and I get stuck right here.

I was following the instructions listed here.

Since I can't seem to find the edit button, here is the workaround i've resolved to.

I used the steamcmd.exe on my own computer (not the vds) downloaded the files, and then transferred them to the vds via FTP. I'm carrying on from here.

I've seen errors similar to this with SteamCMD and this is what fixed it for me.
