CS:GO servers eating up CPU and Memory?
I have the 6 core Linux Managed VDS.
I have 6 servers on it. (2 TF2, 3 CS:GO, and 1 GMOD) and 2 of my CSGO servers are using all of my CPU cores and exhausting the memory like crazy. These 2 servers, are CS:GO Idle, and CS:GO Aim Deathmatch. They are both running 66 tick as well.
Now, I know in these types of servers there is constantly people shooting and respawning. But this shouldn't cause them to use up all of my CPU Cores and exhaust the memory should it?
My Aim DM server is literally just a plain Aim DM server. Running Bailopens DM, and GameMe Stats. That's it. My Idle server just runs a simple Idle addon, that causes people to respawn after they die from people killing them trying to get achievements.
Is there any way to solve this issue?

How many slots are you running on the GO servers?

Ok, after looking at your website and discovering that the aim server runs 16 and the idle runs 32, you said they are both running 66 Tick? 66 should be alright for both of those, maybe run 33 in the 32 but it shouldn't need it. Make sure all your plugins are up to date, as they could be causing excess CPU usage.
And thank you ren3gade, I forgot the link to his website was there before posting that. I was writing this post as you posted that.

Re: CS:GO servers eating up CPU and Memory?
CS:GO has been using more and more CPU and memory with each release, and it seems to have leaks in both areas. It has gotten particularly bad in the last few months. We're really hoping that Valve will address these problems.
The issues are exacerbated with deathmatch, unfortunately.

Okay haha. And yea, good idea. I may drop idle down to 33, as you don't really need a high tickrate on idleMadhavok wrote:Ok, after looking at your website and discovering that the aim server runs 16 and the idle runs 32, you said they are both running 66 Tick? 66 should be alright for both of those, maybe run 33 in the 32 but it shouldn't need it. I feel Valve is destroying the community servers area of Counter-Strike more and more every day. It's all matchmaking now
Well hopefully they get these issues fixed!

Does this seem right?

or are some of my servers eating up resources for sure?

Not sure if that seems right, but you may see lag if you get more people joining. You may have to investigate server by server. My servers aren't usally full (we have a small comunity) but when one of my servers was full (I have a total of 6 servers most of the time they are empty) it was hovering around 9-10%.
EDIT: I have a 4 core VDS, no additions.

Are you running managed or unmanaged? and you said Linux right?Madhavok wrote:Not sure if that seems right, but you may see lag if you get more people joining. Well this is what I'm looking at right now: http://gyazo.com/79939373177b90ec80e713cd542b1881
Is that how yours is with CPU and Memory usage? I don't know why, but 3gb of my 6gb of RAM is being used up, and my servers are dead. :O
Is this normal?
Re: CS:GO servers eating up CPU and Memory?
That usage is about right, linux is probably using ~100-150MB, and srcds memory usage is about the same at idle and active(at least it is on orangebox engine).
