I'm useless after the Steampipe update and it has pissed me off to no end that I can't even base servers anymore let alone even update them. It truly pisses me off.
I completely give up on even trying. F-THAT
If anyone wants to help me out please.
I'm trying to launch 2 GMOD servers and apparently the most simplest task is proving to be a fucking pain in the ass.
I want one to be Terrortown and the other I have no idea yet.
I just want to get the base directories up so I can atleast begin to work on it.
Can someone help?
I'm about to give up on my VDS

Launch steamcmd
>login anonymous
>force_install_dir C:\gmservers\ttt
>app_update 4020
Make sure the folder exists before trying this. Your server will be installed in C:\gmservers\ttt. Highlight the srcds.exe, hold right click over it, drag it in the folder window, and "create shortcut".
Right click the shortcut and click properties
In ther target box, after the exe path, add
Adjust to your liking.
Double click the shortcut to launch the server. Make sure to add an exception to the windows firewall for srcds.exe.
Rinse and repeat for your other server.

Re: I'm about to give up on my VDS
Seems like you are having issues with the raw server installation. Well steam-pipe upgrade hasn't really affected me at all and I installed many servers via it. You can post specifically what you are having issues with, and we would try to solve it for you.
Soja already explained the install process and you can easily create small scripts that will update your server. That combined with crontabs (linux) or task scheduler (windows) makes a perfect auto-update tool. I used that to update my l4d2 and cs:go servers.
