Would the E3-1270v3 full machine be able to handle this?

Post by Mr.Tickles »

So for some time now I have been running my TF2 servers on three VDS's I rent through NFO.
Lately I have been looking at making the move from those three vds's to one Full machine.

Here is what I run right now on all of them:
Eight TF2 servers (All replay enabled)
One Teamspeak 3 Server
One Website

Would the larger of the two full machines that NFO offers (E3-1270v3) be able to handle the load?

Yes, a fully dedicated machine should be able to handle this just fine. I imagine you are getting about two servers per core now. Which means you'd be using up about 50% of the machines CPU. It would likely be less though, since the machines CPU would be slighter faster than your VDS and you'd be out of a virtual environment which has a small performance impact.

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Not sure if it helps but I run 4 tf2 32 slots servers and bunch of bf4/bf3 servers. TF2 adds a small percentage in cpu consumption (for me) I also run about 7-8 plugins. I dont have replay though.
