Frankfurt VS USA?

Post by lukehanham »

Hey, i live in the uk and am going to buy a vds on the weekend.

If i buy it in frankfurt will it show on the serverlist for people in the uk?

Also why is frankfurt more expensive for a 4 core VDS.

One of my friends said that it is because of the better DDos protection?

The price of servers in Frankfurt is a bit higher simply because the cost of doing business is higher in Frankfurt.

AFAIK all of NFO's locations deal with attacks in similar ways. Locations with higher capacities will withstand large attacks better than NFO's smaller capacity locations. Frankfurt isn't special AFAIK and it'd deal with attacks in about the same way as a comparative location such as NYC which also has a 20 Gbit link(most of NFO's locations have 20 Gbit links). NFO's largest location is Chicago(30 Gbit) so in theory, it should give you the best chance to handle larger attacks.
