So I know what the answer 'normally' is and that is, "whatever distro you're most familiar with"
Let's say I'm not at all familiar with any linux distro but want to get my feet wet with a view to getting an unmanaged linux gaming server.
What would be the easiest to learn (with a view to running a gaming server)

If you ask me, there's no going wrong with Debian.

I use Ubuntu and have had great success.
