Want to Buy a VDS for 7 Days to Die

Post by XNocturnalistX »

I'm planning on ordering a VDS for my 7 Days to die server that I currently have with NFO.

I was wondering before I jumped into this if anyone knows what packages or software needs to be installed to host 7 Days to Die on a VDs, for example like Net Framework, etc.

Oh BTW it will be on Windows Server 2012 R2.

Three core
•6144 MB of RAM
•300 GB of RAID-protected storage
•12000 GB of bandwidth transfer

I'm hoping this will be enough to run a 50 man 7 days to die

I don't believe those are required for this server, but they won't hurt either way to install them. As for the VDS itself. Right now 7 Days to Die is having some issues with resource usage on the last few patches. The VDS will be enough to get a server up and running, but until the game is optimized I would not expect you to have a full 50 slot server. As of now the game will use multiple GBs of ram and over a core with only a few players.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

.net is needed if you want to run the sever manager on your VDS.
You need at least a 3 core if you intend to only have a couple players.
More players require more cores.

Start with 3, test it, if you begin to overload, upgrade.

Note that they last several updates have extreme memory leaks so your memory can just continually keep increasing until you can't so anything anymore. They really need to fix there latest updates.
