Java

Post by Kilonox »

Hello,

I have tried installing Java 3 times on my Windows 2008 Server, with still no luck. I would appreciate if someone could tell me how it is done.

Thanks,

What are the symptoms when it fails? Are you receiving an error message?

No, it shows no sign of failing, however I go to the command prompt and type. "java -version" and I get, "'Java' is not a recognized command" or similar. I don't remember the exact message. Other than that, I love you. And your servers. Mostly you though.

It sounds like it's not installing the path right. Did you open the command prompt after the install completely finished, or was it an old one?

If you type ""c:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe", does that work? I see that this is where I personally have Java installed.

If you installed the 32-bit version of Java, you might also try installing the 64-bit version (or vice versa).
