Hosting Suggestion: Nginx

Post by $atanic $pirit »

I was just wondering why NFO web hosting never used Nginx? Personally, I never tried it, but from what I read on the internet, it seems to give speed boost.

We tested it previously and it did not provide a speed boost for the types of applications that our customers run (mostly PHP). It's also not quite as flexible in Apache, so it's not as good for shared, general-purpose hosting.

Personally I use nginx as a front end proxy and for serving static content, and I let Apache serve PHP and dynamic pages.

It works for me and I get the best of both worlds.
