SSL Help

Post by Sir Klutch »

Hello everyone, recently I had started using the "Redirect http to https" option for subdomains. While almost everything seems to be working as intended, I still have one issue... This issue is; I cannot sign-in via steam on my website using the steam login plugin that you can download from vBulletin. I was told that it may be the site software I am using which has not been updated to be aware of https when it was set up under http (or set to use that) so it could be having trouble knowing where to actually look. If anyone is familiar with vBulletin and could help my solve my issue, that would be splendid!

Kind Regards,

Could you please describe the specific steps taken to get to the error, from visiting your site? The https redirect well let you use any http address on your site (On any subdomain that uses the redirect, that is) and simply tell it to use https in the address instead. I don't think you're seeing a mixed content error, but I'd have to know more about the specific error you're seeing.

Well, do you have a steam account? The issue is that you cannot register/sign in to the website through steam with the SSL being set. I am now redirecting http to https once again. Please visit https://small-town.net and try to sign in with steam on the site. You will notice that you cannot, once you've done that get back to me and I will disable the http to https redirect and then you'll notice that you can sign in through steam on the site.
